Tattered & Timeless Booth is ready for the Grand Opening.

Today was my last day to tweak my booth space to get it ready for the first day.
The Grand Opening of the Carolina Country Peddlers Mall is September 1st.
It is located off of I-95 at exit 20 in Lumberton, NC.
I have two spaces made into one and have been working hard on it for over a month.  My husband has done tons of work - the heavy stuff and building because also during this past month I was scheduled for a hysterectomy and the doc said no heavy lifting or such.  That certainly threw a wrench in the plans.  But it has all come together and it is finished.
I gleaned inspiration from many areas as I spent months looking over all pictures of booth spaces I could get my hands on and also looking at stores that I have shopped in and loved.  I read Elizabeth House Shop Talk from beginning to end to use the wise information she shares.
Of all the blogs, I took one idea that Notes from A Cottage Industry uses a lot.  I used book pages to do my upper walls. Then I did the bottom with oudoor siding. For the ceiling I loved what a store did in Waco ,Texas that my best friend Liz showed me on a visit- Bloom & Bee Swanky.  Her whole store is too die for but I was so mesmerized by her use of old piano rolls of music in the ceiling.  I'd like to thank all of the above bloggers and stores and people for their inspiration as my booth would not be all that it is without them.
Just a reminder - this is what we started with:

That being said- here is my finished product:

I adore it.  I love the piano rolls on the ceiling - they drop the 10 foot height down a bit and soften the space.  They also lend a nice glow with the chandelier.  I love the walls - they are fun.  And I feel so relaxed when I enter the space.  It does need some things - like there is nothing on the big shelves on the back walls.  Well hubby was there today and I had him hang them while the labor was available.  I can fill them later.
Also, it needs some sort of floor covering. The commercial tile with burgandy border does nothing for my space.  I am thinking sisal..we shall see.
All in all it was a lot of work and I'd like to thank my husband, Kirk for all the time he put into it.
He gave up many weekends to do this when I am sure he would have rather been biking.
He built the whole thing and has done all my "grunt labor" as he calls it. And has babysat the kids while I paint or recouperate from surgery.
And thanks to my sister, Trisha for being my cheerleader and babysitter when I needed it.
Well off to do work for my other booth that needs to be filled for the October 2 show in Cameron that my sister and I do together.  The fun never ends does it?

After all this work I am going to link this to:

This is gorgeous! You two did a great job! I just this week opened my very first craft mall booth and am vacuuming up all the advice I can get, so I'll be following you and your wonderful space. I wonder if lengths of muslin could be hung like your piano rolls? I do not have anything overhead yet and my booth is half the size of yours. Also, no signage across the front of mine. Have to fix that! Good luck, get well soon.

Wow...what an inspiration! I have my 1st fair on the 18th and Im so nervous about getting my space ready. I have been talking with Elizabeth back and forth through emails and she is definately the expert on displays. She has given me a tremendous amount of advice. Even though Im a merchandiser, its different when its your own homemade items your displaying. I love your space...Im still getting my items ready but will be posting them on Etsy and the photos of the fair on my blog. Hope you come by....Good Luck I hope it all sells.

Tammy,
Your booth looks just great! Very creative. In answer to your paint sprayer question: Yes, I thin my paint with a little water before using it in the sprayer. I thin the paint to a consistency a little thicker than cream. Hope that helps.
